Wendy Meddour is an internationally best-selling, multi-award-winning children’s author known for writing heart-warming, poignant, and funny books. After her debut came second in the Branford Boase Award for 'Outstanding First Novel', her books have received accolades from the UKLA Book Awards, the Diverse Book Awards, the T'ir Na N-Og Awards, CILIP Kate Greenaway Awards, TIME Magazine, Kirkus, The GuardianThe Times and The Atlantic.

Wendy is also the recipient of the Margaret Wise Brown Prize for Children's Literature. Her stories regularly appear on CBeebies, and have been read by well-loved household names including Tom Hardy, Emily Watson and Louis Theroux.

Whether it’s through moving tales of friendship and resilience, quirky characters, or exciting adventures, Wendy stories encourage children to be creative, kind and curious.

Wendy grew up in Aberystwyth and now lives in Devon, where she loves swimming in the sea, painting on clifftops, and writing up on Dartmoor. She taught English Literature at Oxford University for nearly a decade and, when not dreaming up stories, is  a Manuscript Consultant and Professor of English and Creative Writing.
